Summer 2017

Hello all, Wally here!

2017, what a crazy year so far. Since our last update, the usual January slow down just did not happen, and within days of the New Year we were out on the road, railway stations or airports, running more client events. We’re just getting a few days to take a breather now the summer holidays are approaching, so thought I better update the blog before it goes crazy again.

This year so far has involved many more conferences, from small conferences in the Channel Islands to large residential conferences for hundreds in London & the Midlands. And of course it’s not just the serious side of business, there’s always the fun events which have involved Gin Masterclasses (hic!) and a recent exclusive party boat on the Thames in the glorious summer weather. Awards and incentives have seen us run several swanky awards ceremonies in London’s hottest new venues, and lots of incentive groups including an exclusive tea tasting at the Ritz! We hope to update the case studies page soon to showcase some of these awesome events. Some quick jaunts overseas have seen us travel to Dubrovnik and Iceland, great destinations for your incentive travel events.

Away from W2, as well as the General Election fiasco, there have been some horrible news stories in the first half of this year. Each one of the recent tragic events have impacted our events in some way, ranging from last minute travel cancellations, inaccessible venues, to an event having to be moved altogether with less than 48 hours notice. This really does highlight the need for experienced event management, good contingency planning and a well executed “plan B”. In perspective, some inconvenienced guests and several late nights of planning for us is nothing compared to how it affected some, and our thoughts are firmly with those cities and families whose lives have been affected.

Looking forward, and in hope of a more peaceful 6 months, the rest of the year is looking busy and exciting! A few large conference roadshows will mean many miles covered for us around the UK in the Autumn months, and Chris is especially looking forward to our football stadium conference tour (he’s dug out his boots just in case), and with groups further afield in Lisbon and Dubai. And yep, even Christmas events are booked in (time to book yours?!).

That’s me done for now. I hope all our clients, suppliers and associates have an equally fun and busy 2017 and we’ll see you all soon.

Back to work…

So here it is, Merry Christmas…

w2christmas16Wally here, getting into the festive spirit with Christmas jumpers in the office! We have been reading through the festive well wishes from clients and suppliers, thank you!

As much as 2016 has been an interesting and unsettled year globally/domestically/politically, we’re pleased to say it’s been a busy and fun year here at W2, in fact it’s been our busiest year yet!

We’ve ran more great events and incentives with our longstanding clients, and some lovely new clients entrusting us with their event projects. We’ve covered a fair few miles this year, with events in all corners of the UK, and a few trips into Europe for conferences and incentives.

Busy times are set to continue into 2017, with many repeat events already in the diary and more in the pipeline.

We hope that all of our friends, clients, industry colleagues and suppliers have a wonderful Christmas, and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

This year we’ll be sending an e-card, and making a donation to the amazing NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at Southmead hospital in Bristol. They do incredible work caring for premature and poorly babies, including the newest member of the W2 family, Evan!

Seasons greetings to all. Ho ho ho…!

Summer Bloggin’ – Events of 2016 (so far…)

Afternoon all

2016 has been a big news year; a Brexit vote and a new Prime Minister, a Brit living in space and our Welsh neighbours being better at football than us.  It’s been another busy year here also; running more successful client events, conferences, celebrations, incentives and team building as well as celebrating turning 3 years old in April.

Unlike Brexit and the England football team, W2 have remained in Europe working on some great European events, including a very busy and successful week running a medical conference in Alicante.  We’re also looking forward to heading out to Seville and returning to the Algarve in the next few weeks for incentive trips.

Just like at No. 10, we’ve also been ‘voted in’, winning some great new business pitches and becoming preferred supplier to some lovely new clients.  We have confirmed some great events with these new clients and plenty more to come.  Not forgetting our returning clients who are keeping us nice and busy running their successful event programmes.

Taking inspiration from Tim Peake, we’ve also been on ‘exploration missions’, hosted by our superb industry friends, exploring UK venues and cities and attending familiarisation visits to overseas destinations.  A few notable trips have been a fun weekend in Valencia (thanks to The DMC advantage, Hosmark & Maximice) and a few days of sunny paradise in Mauritius (thanks to Hosmark), and Dubai (thanks to Pearl), all  of which are fantastic destinations for corporate groups, both conferences and incentives, and we look forward to placing groups here soon.

And finally to the football where our Welsh & Icelandic friends proved that teamwork, togetherness and passion can take you to the next level.  We really enjoyed the stories of these teams, from the perspective of an event company who specialise in bringing people together through shared experiences, creating success for the overall team.  We’ll leave you to work out the corporate metaphor here…!

Have a good summer and enjoy the upcoming Olympics, and hopefully a quieter few months news-wise.

Go Team GB!  Wally. x

Planning, planning, planning!

Hello all

We’re well and truly into 2016, and as per the January norm it’s been slightly quieter on the live events front, but this time of year it’s all about the planning!  And what a busy time we’ve had on the planning front.

We’ve been planning many conferences, summer events, overseas conferences, UK and overseas incentive trips, and all manner of lovely events for our ever growing client base.

So my advice to you is to do the same, and sharpish!  A well planned and well executed annual events plan will maximise the effect of each event, making them yield individual results alone, and contribute to a successful and cost effective overall annual events programme.  The key dates for ‘conference season’ in the popular venues are already hard to come by, and if you want the big dates for your Christmas party, then it’s time to get those booked up!  A few of our clients have already confirmed Christmas events, so take a leaf out of their book, it’s never too soon to plan!

Our event specialists will happily help out reviewing your annual plans and advise what we feel works best for your goals.  Plan a planning meeting with us, and your plans will go to plan! :o)

Christmas wishes…

Seasons greetings!

As the year draws to a close, we just wanted to take this opportunity to wish all our lovely clients, suppliers, partners and friends a very Merry Christmas.

2015 has been another very busy year here at W2, and we thank you all for being part of our story.  We’ve had a great year with some exciting new clients and events, as well as working on projects for many existing clients.  We’ve ran some brilliant events all over the UK and in Europe, working with some great venues and partners.

We’ve even found time to upgrade this website, so please do check out the Our Work page to see case studies and photo’s of events, with more being added when we find the time between events!

With many projects for 2016 already under way, we’re looking forward to another fun year with you all.

We wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas!

Wally & the team at W2. x

Our New Website!!

Afternoon all

We’ve been promising it for a while, and it’s finally here! Welcome to our revamped and new look website.

Not only does it tell the world all about us and showcase recent projects and pictures in the case studies section. It also means we can offer ‘client pages’ for anything you need on-line for your events.

Feel free to take a look around.

Wally

Flying through 15…

may15OK, so reference the last blog post, um, that didn’t go so well. I promised to write a new blog, update the website and put up some case studies. But clients and events come first, and since the start of the year the guys have been non-stop servicing clients, working on events and projects.

These will (one day!) be case studies on our (updated!) website. But for now I’ll keep you up to date with the goings on at W2…

Conference roadshows seem to be our forte of late, and we’ve again been touring the UK’s major cities in the name of conference events. As well as the ever important business messages and networking, we had rugby star Will Greenwood showing off his World Cup medal at a few of these, and the Prime Minister even briefly turned up at one event! (It may have been electioneering but we like to think he’s an advocate for W2 events).

Our ongoing Incentive programmes are popular as ever with happy winners at some great events; and talking of winners, there’s been plenty of these at the Awards Ceremonies we’ve been managing. See this slightly off-centre time-lapse video if you like to see behind the scenes at events – or are a fan of ceilings.

A fair few teams have bonded at our teambuilding events, delegates have been enticed and entertained at exhibitions and conferences, with a mention to the awesome Alex Crow who has been going down a storm at some of these events, and critics have been entertained at special events surrounding film premiers.

Going into the next few months, we’re looking forward to more summer events now the sun is shining, and a few overseas incentives trips. On the subject of overseas, I’m currently writing this blog from Portugal in the middle of a week long international sales conference for a lovely new client. It’s a tough job but someones gotta do it…

Bom dia! Wally. x

Jingle Bells

xmas14smallWow; it has been a while! There is good reason though. We’ve been so busy since summer on client projects and events that updating the blog has taken a back seat.

The last few months has seen W2 manage overseas incentive trips, a conference roadshow around the UK, summer parties, christmas parties, conferences and exec meetings, networking events, team building, incentive programmes and much more. And with plenty more good stuff booked for 2015!

In the next few weeks I’m promising to make a few changes to our website, write an actual blog, and fill our website with case studies and photos of recent events.

Thank you to our wonderful clients for such a fantastic year and keeping us so busy. But now it’s Christmas the boss might let me put my feet up for a few days…

Have a very Merry Christmas all. Wally. x

Come Fly with me…

We hope you’re enjoying the sunny weather. The warmer temperatures have made us think about overseas events; so I’ve been looking at incentive travel destinations, and incentive programmes as a whole.

As the economy recovers, a recent industry report suggests incentive travel is once again on the rise amongst corporates. So should you run an incentive programme? A professionally run sales incentive will not only ensure your staff and customers are motivated and happy, but will see your sales figures soar, with a proven return on your investment.

A well constructed incentive travel programme is about more than the final trip… but we’ll save the logistics for now and skip to the good bit… destinations!

In our recent newsletter we’ve highlighted a few options to match a range of goals and budgets, from Mauritius to Malta, and UK based incentives. Grab yourselves a cuppa and come away with me…

Have a good summer; Wally.
